We pride ourselves in selecting and shipping only the healthiest animals available. All
live orders are double or triple bagged and filled with oxygen. They are then carefully
packed in Styrofoam boxes along with 1 to 3 heat packs depending on current
weather conditions. We then  ship all live items overnight to assure they arrive safely
at  your door.  Never the less things can go wrong while in transit. That is why we
offer our Arrive Alive Guarantee. In order to insure that your new animals arrive
healthy and stay that way it is critical and required that you follow our  detailed
acclimation procedure!  We cannot stress enough the importance of following our
acclimation procedure. We have found it to be the single most important step in
insuring that your new animals survive the transition into there new environment.
Most deaths can be attributed to rushing this procedure and introducing your new
arrivals to your tank to quickly. As long as you follow our acclimation procedure and
your water quality is within the guidelines set below we will credit your next order for
the amount of any livestock lost.

Acclimation Procedure

Follow this procedure even if an item look to be dead or dieing. Often they are just
severely stressed and will recover if acclimated correctly.

1. Turn off all Aquarium lights and dim any bright lights in your fish room. (After
being in the dark box during shipping, any strong sudden light can add to the animals
stress).

2. Cut the top off the newly acquired animals bag and place it in a plastic bucket next
to the aquarium you will be putting it in to.  (Although  not required we do
recommend using a quarantine tank for new fish for the first two to three weeks.
Quarantining new fish  will help to eliminate the possibility of introducing new
parasites and diseases into your display tank. It also allows you to easily treat sick fish
without the need to catch and move them to a different tank. Not to mention it gives
newly acquired  fish a chance to regain there strength before being introduced into
your main display tank).
3. Using a small plastic air line set a drip line from the aquarium to the bucket.  Set a
siphon and use either a valve or tie a knot in the tubing to set a steady drip rate. Let
the animal adjust to the new water over a period of two hours. If the bucket is filling
to fast either slow the drip or remove a few cup of water from the bucket as needed.
(do not pour the water from the bucket back into your aquarium! Throw it out!)
While acclimating keep a close eye on the temperature of the water in the bucket.
Make sure it closely matches the water in the aquarium where the animal is to be
placed.
4. When the acclimation time is up carefully remove the animal from the bucket and
place it in the aquarium. Remember to keep the aquarium lights off for at least 4
hours to allow the item some time to get  acclimated  to its new home. Make sure to
throw out the left over water in the bucket. Do not re-use it.
